Irancy Pinot Noir Christophe Patrice | Burgundy, France

£24.30

100% Pinot Noir grapes from AC Irancy, which makes light wines in the northwest corner of Burgundy just a short distance west of Chablis.

Irancy vineyards are enriched by the unique Kimmeridgian soil, which gives the wines supple, fine structures, developed by powerful aromatic bases of black fruits and red berries.

Vines aged over 40 years are on South-facing slopes and clay soil, fully expressing the terroir on the palate. Harvested by hand, total destemming and a traditional vinification with indigenous yeasts following biodynamic principles. Fermentation is for 14 days with some ageing in barrels after racking, then 12 months in stainless steel tanks.

This wine is a collaboration with Domaine Ferrari, which was bought by Christophe Patrice in December 2023. Their estates are first and foremost the story of two men who are passionate about their vines, their land, their terroir and their history.
